Olla Watering Pot
Olla Watering Pot
Ollas are un-glazed terracotta pots that have been used for centuries to irrigate plants. Their body is made of porous clay and when buried and filled with water creates soil tension that slowly releases water to the root of your plants. Using Ollas to water your garden is 50-90% more efficient than self-watering and drip systems. This primitive method is exactly what we need to get back to ensure we are saving valuable water while increasing plant growth.
Each pot is sealed with a stone-like top to keep water from evaporating and when planted look like little stones in your garden. They should be buried about a 1/2 inch from its neck. Great for vegetable gardens, bushes, and trees.
Each olla is hand-thrown on the wheel. Sizes/shapes will vary. Roughly 7-8” tall and holds over 8 cups of water and or 1/2 a gallon of water.
Benefits from Ollas:
-Saves water
-Improves germination
-Increases crop growth and yields
-Reduces disease
